TBW-4 FUKAGAWA Year Plate "Dragon" 2024

Fukagawa Porcelain's zodiac plates have been produced every year since around 1930 in the early Showa period with the wish for peace and happiness.
The year 2024's zodiac plate features a fascinating depiction of Mt. Fuji in Fukagawa blue, a technique Fukagawa Chuji I mastered using the "aerograph" technique.
Aerograph is said to have been perfected in the 1880s as a magical technique to create a fantastic world.
This year's zodiac plate is based on the motif of a five-clawed dragon, which was only allowed to be used by Chinese emperors, and is glazed with the four rulers, known since ancient times as a sign of good fortune, to bring good luck.
Fukagawa is one of the few potters in the world that has been engaged in the entire process of pottery making, painting, and firing since its establishment in 1894.
